About NEWORLD
NEWORLD is a sweeping multimedia experience that reimagines the American story for the 21st century. Created by photographer Joseph Sohm and narrated by William Shatner, the piece blends stunning 4K drone imagery, archival photography, symphonic music, and spoken word to explore the country’s evolving identity as it approaches its 250th anniversary.
Set to Antonín Dvořák’s From the New World performed by the New West Symphony, NEWORLD takes audiences on a powerful visual and musical journey through all 50 states. Originally inspired by the U.S. Constitution’s Bicentennial, the project has been fully reimagined for the Semiquincentennial as a cinematic meditation on who we are — and where we’re headed.
Premiering in 2024 and now touring select venues, NEWORLD invites viewers to reflect on the promise, contradictions, and continuing transformation of the American experience.
